The first woodland commpound houses three Mucovy residents including our only female Muscovy. There are plans for a second woodland area later in the year.
Here are details about the woodland residents.
Hal
Hal arrived with Wichu and Georgie but he and Georgie didn't get on. Witchu was also not impresed by Georgie's good looks and pushy behaviour! Hal is a lovely looking boy, probably just a few years old and though he isn't very tame, he has a lovely peaceful nature and knows his name. When you shout him, he wags his tail furiously and his crest stands up tall.
Witchu
Witchu or 'Wee Poppet' as we sometimes call her (due to the noises she makes). Like most female Muscovy ducks, she is a bit of an escape artist and she had to be housed in a large enclosure with higher fences to keep her from flying and in fact, climbing over the fencing. She has since settled down and isn't as flighty as she was when she arrived.
Thumper
Thumper is the only surviving chick of Witchu, he got his name due to the noise he makes with his his large feet when he runs. He is still very young but we are hoping that he and Hal get on as he matures. He is growing into a very handsome and large chap so we will take more photo's of him when the weather improves.
